Job Summary: In this role, you will be asked to add value to each part you touch, ensuring that our clients (and their customers) receive the highest quality parts that make their final product perform flawlessly. Problem solvers in all roles at Precision Plus are crucial to our success!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate two or more Miyano ABX or BNX machines that perform a series of machining operations such as turning, drilling, boring, threading & milling to specifications
- Prepare and load specified bar stock into bar loader
- Monitor machine operation & verify conformance of work piece to specifications using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM, OASIS, Keyence, & functional gauges)
- Consistently check parts per inspection instructions; ensure non-conforming parts are controlled per protocols
- Adjust part dimensions by making offsets, change inserts, properly center & touch off tools as needed
- Review and interpret details on process router, scheduling board, part drawings, and inspection instructions.
- Perform basic trouble-shooting of machine & bar feeder alarms
- Adhere to AS9100 quality standards per protocol
- Consistently clean & maintain machines & related equipment to ensure optimal conditions for success

- Maintain work area cleanliness and organization
- Communicate daily feedback of notable items to following shift team member at end of shift

Super-precision, multi-axis CNC lathes for complex turn/mill work up to 2-1/2” diameter:
- Miyano ABX-64TH3 (2 1/2″ capacity)
- Miyano ABX-51SY (2″ capacity)
- Miyano ABX-51TH3 (2″ capacity)
- Miyano BNX-51MSY (2” capacity)

Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working with Miyano or similar equipment
- A positive attitude with an exceptional aptitude for growing your skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Effective decision making and problem-solving skills with a drive for results & a mindset for continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritize time-sensitive projects/tasks
- A collaborative mindset focused on teamwork
- Detail orientated with the ability to accurately follow work instructions
- Operational knowledge and ability to use inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparator, surface tester, indicators, pin & thread gauges, Oasis, Micronite & CMM, measuring systems)
- Knowledge of basic mathematics (arithmetic & geometry) is required
- Good computer skills with the ability to demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in completing basic data entry within the ERP manufacturing system
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of basic metalworking theory (cutting, tooling, material properties, machine tools, cutting fluids & coolants)
- Vision corrected to 20/20
