Locations – Brooklyn, NY 11203
Initial Duration – 3 months (can go much longer term)
Shift Time: Day 6:45 am – 3 pm, Evening - 3 pm - 11 pm and Nights 10:45pm – 7am
Schedule: 7.5 hours shifts - 5x8
Pay Range: $25 - $30/hr. on W2
Duties:
Provides direct patient care and related support. Performs other related duties.
Responsibilities:
- Administers routine personal care to patients, ensuring timely, safe, and effective assistance.
- Prepares patients for meals, feeds, or assists with feeding as required, and attends to personal care needs.
- Empties bedpans and collects urine and other specimens for testing.
- Conducts transfers of patients to and from bed and/or chair, utilizing appropriate techniques such as one-person transfer, two-person transfer, and the use of a Hoyer lift.
- Takes accurate vital signs, including temperatures, pulse, and respirations, and records all necessary information in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Assists patients in walking, performs range of motion exercises using proper techniques, and aids in patient transportation using wheelchairs or stretchers.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, etc., without discomfort.
- Capable of hearing, talking, walking, standing, bending, and stretching.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and interpreting documents.
- Comfortable sitting for extended periods at a desk to perform job functions.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods at patient bedside and/or procedural areas.
- Effective communication skills with patients and/or co-workers, and may involve handling reasonably heavy weights, lifting patients, and adhering to hazardous waste procedures.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior experience needed.
- Licenses, Certifications: New York State Certification as a Nursing Attendant.
