THERASUPPORT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS
JOB DESCRIPTION:
TheraSupport Behavioral Health and Wellness is seeking an experienced full or part-time Rehabilitation Care professional and/or Licensed CNA/or LPN to work with an individual (male) who sustained a traumatic brain injury and requires 24-hour support and supervision in the home and community.
This individual, who is in his early 20’s, resides in a handicapped accessible apartment in the Ann Arbor community with his father and legal guardian. Active engagement in in-home and community activities is required due to cognitive and behavioral challenges. Maintaining a safe and clean environment is key to this individual’s success.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Daily Hygiene and Grooming:
- Bathing.
- Brushing teeth.
- G-Tube care.
- Skin Care.
- Dressing and undressing of clothing items.
- Toileting and changing brief due to incontinence.
Adaptive Equipment:
- Properly securing right arm and writ brace.
- Properly securing bilateral AFO’s.
- Properly secure back brace.
Medication Administration:
- AM and PM Medication.
Meal Preparation:
- Use of thickened liquids.
- Monitor eating habits due to choking risk.
Mobility and Repositioning:
- Assist with operating motorized wheelchair.
- Use of Hoyer lift for transferring.
- Repositioning and turning while in the bed due to risk of bed sores.
Home Stretching/PT Program:
- Use of Stander.
- Use of Walker.
- Use of Gait Trainer.
- Use of Moto Med Bike.
- Upper and lower body stretching.
- Hand manipulation of the right side of body due to paralysis and tetraparesis.
Additionally, this individual requires transportation to and from medical appointments and community outings.
Starting pay for Rehabilitation Care professionals and Licensed CNA’s is $17.00 - $18.00 per and dependent upon experience. Benefits available.
