The NA Class Instructor main responsibility will be the management and instruction of the NA Program along with continuing education of CNA's staff and support of nursing staff within the organization. Responsible for ensuring the NA Program's management and instructor comply with Oregon State Board Nursing standards and guidelines are maintained. NA Program certification through the Oregon State Board of Nursing is met.
NA Class Instructor/Nurse Manager Duties:
NA Class Instructor/Nurse Manager will work Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts, during scheduled classes.
1. Provide NA training program every other month, or as indicated by staffing needs
2. Develop and initiate CMA training program - hold class once a year or as indicated by staffing needs
3. Perform application reviews, Insight testing reviews, reference checks and interviews for applicants
4. Keep programs updated and current with all OSBN requirements
5. CNA monthly meeting, including competency training and testing
6. Develop other nursing staff training opportunities, such as arranging outside speakers to include topics such as dealing with younger veterans with PTSD, mental illness and substance abuse
7. Assist RCMs when needed between classes, at the ADON/DNS direction
8. Assist with preparation for state and VA surveys
9. Audits per DNS/ADNS direction
10. Participation in PITs at ADNS/DNS direction
11. Other assigned duties per ADNS/DNS
