BMO Capital Markets Corp. seeks CM Associate- IC Global Markets
Duties:
Provide a markets-based suite of sales and trading solutions to Institutional, Corporate, and Retail clients. Offer a full spectrum of integrated capabilities to deliver leading market insight, risk management, and execution services to issuing and/or investor clients, including access to major Global Markets across asset classes including debt, foreign exchange, interest rate, credit, equity, securitization, and commodities. Maximize profit while prudently minimizing the bank's exposure and adhering to regulatory statutes. Act as point person to provide client support in the form of proposals, marketing material and scheduling with the cooperation of trading, sales, and research. Respond to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community in a professional manner and determine acceptable solutions. Provide competitively priced liquidity to corporate, institutional, and interbank clients; quote hedging advice, and market information in support of the customer business and arbitrage opportunities. Support sales activities with trading strategies, definition and market information customized to suit their client's individual needs. Market financial institutions to increase order flow, volume and market information. Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients and act as a positive change agent to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Use analytical skills, including probability, statistical inference, and similar skills, to apply appropriate technical concepts, and complete and lead consistent and reliable technical and financial reports, as well as analyses to support client deliverables. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Develop an understanding of and proficiency in using all required systems and models. Support change management of varying scope and type, including tasks typically focused on execution and sustainment activities. Help colleagues with the presentation of information and preparation of proposals for their review. Assist colleagues in the research and resolution of administrative and operational issues. Understand the complexity of transactions and related risk, including credit, market, operational, legal, and compliance. Maintain and develop knowledge of client systems and applications, and the internal web-based research document database. Execute orders for purchase or sales of securities or complete transaction independently if brokerage firm is market maker in requested transaction. Receive and review all transactions to ensure accuracy and that transactions conform to the regulations of SEC, NASD, and other regulatory agencies. Track supply and demand and evaluate market development. Operate within position and loss limits as prudent management of the Bank's exposure. Manage risk related to pricing and sales and trading of the book. Take action to reduce exposure in developing and delivering client strategies. Consider risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures. Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as CM Associate-IC Global Markets or related occupation, performing deal and transaction execution and project management or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as CM Associate-IC Global Markets or related occupation, performing deal and transaction execution and project management. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section unless otherwise stated): performing data driven decision making using tools including Bloomberg and Excel; performing trades and conducting trading strategy using database technologies, including Python and SQL; identifying and researching relative value opportunities; and, executing trade and managing risk using INTEX and Yield Book. Must possess FINRA Series 7 and 63 certifications. Salary offered for this role is $173,555.00/year.
Salary Range: $173,555.00/ year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the BMO's salary range for this position
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary represents BMO Financial Group's hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
