Cloud Engineer Ii

Job Summary:   As a Rackspace Cloud Engineer III you'llImplement cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture. Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization's existing IT infrastructure. Work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions. Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create well-designed, documented, and tested software features that meet customer requirements.
• Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
• Work with customers engineering teams on a wide variety of projects.
• Write infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Implement automation/DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, Containerization, etc.
• Perform Linux/Windows administration, automated deployments, scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python).
• Collaborate with fellow Rackers and customer key stakeholders to deliver projects, such as implementing Cloud-based technical architectures, executing migrations, and optimizing applications that enable business objectives.
• Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in field related to role preferred. High School Diploma is required.
• Min 2 yrs of progressive AWS Cloud Engineering.
• Expert level knowledge of AWS.
• Experience with Serverless Frameworks for AWS.
• Storage experience including Object Storage.
• Experience with CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Working knowledge of Systems Manager Suite.
• Expert scripting skills especially with Python.
• Experience using Jinja2 for templating.
• Expert level knowledge of GitLab CI/CD.
• Deep level understanding of cloud and hybrid networking.

The anticipated starting pay range for Colorado is: $82,300 - $120,670.

The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $87,500 - 128,370

The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $95,900 - 140,580.

 

Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
