Description
SAIC is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and experienced senior principal cloud engineer for our Cloud Managed Services (CMS)- Service Management Delivery organization. The Cloud Computing Engineer Sr Principal will perform a key function within the SAIC CMS Team related to cloud management and cloud software development. This job can be worked anywhere within the U.S.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Design, deploy, operate, and maintain resilient secure Cloud environments to deliver features in the most efficient way possible.
- Operate and maintain cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (Iac) and SRE principles.
- Maintenance and ongoing development of automation and continuous build/integration/deployment infrastructure for multiple environments; write, build and deploy code and scripts.
- Enable observability and resilience throughout multi-cloud landing zones and Dev/Test/Prod environments.
- Support implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines, and governance.
- Support SAIC’s Customers in CSP (Cloud Service Provider) Account Acquisition, Deployment, and Maintenance.
- Develop new cloud-based tools utilizing best of breed cloud software development tools and methodologies.
- Work directly with SAIC customers and stakeholders to deliver managed cloud applications and services.
- Produce technical documentation and procedures.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and/or Secret Security clearance as needed.
- Bachelors degree + 14 years of related experience, additional experience in lieu of Bachelors degree will be considered.
- Self-Organized and works well with minimal supervision.
- Independently troubleshoot complex issues from identification to resolution.
- Proven background working in cloud environments with experience and knowledge in the following areas:
- Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
- Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence.
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory).
- CSPs including Azure, AWS, GCP, or OCI.
- Containerization and container management.
- Cyber tools - Aviatrix, Orca, Splunk, Amulous, STIG scanner.
- Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
- Git, branching strategies, GitFlow and/or GitHub Flow.
- Cloud high availability and scalability best practices and architectures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to support East Coast work hours typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Willingness to check for and work service tickets during non-standard hours and over weekends and potentially holidays. Ability to accept calls from the SAIC CMS Help Desk at any hour if customer submits a Severity A ticket. This is an infrequent event but it does occur.
DESIRED:
- AWS Cloud Practitioner (or higher) Certified.
- DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II or CSSP IS Baseline Certified.
Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
