Acts as a collaborative member of the clinic team in providing continuity of and quality patient care. Works directly with Physician and Administrator in delivering and maintaining patient care consistent with established policies and procedures. Assesses and provides appropriate intervention for the problems that patients and companies experience related to health care and treatment to include teaching, counseling, and supporting as needed.
Education required: High School Diploma/GED.
License, certification and registration: Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program. BLS required by completion of Orientation period. Certified Federal Drug Screen Collector. Certified Breath Alcohol Technician.
Experience: Minimum of one year medical experience in a clinic or hospital setting. Three years' experience in direct patient care preferred. Must be competent in taking vital signs, giving injections, practicing phlebotomy techniques, and lab procedures. Knowledge of computer EMR charting systems. Familiar with patient referral and follow-up.
Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be proficient with computers, fax machine, and copy machine. Must be detail oriented and work well in a team environment.
