Position Title: Clinical Technician/Optician
Functional Discipline: Research & Development
Reports To: Global Head of Clinical Affairs
Location: Hoya Dallas Lab, Texas
Terms: Full-time
As the Clinical Technician/Optician, you are part of the Global Clinical Affairs Team within the Research and Development department at HOYA Vision Care. You are responsible for supporting the endeavors of the Clinical Affairs team. You have a strong understanding of the optical/ophthalmic industry and a drive to succeed at HOYA Vision Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and management of clinical trials phase I-IV, in the ophthalmic medical device industry.
- Use your experience as an optician, or related skill set, in the optical industry to achieve key objectives
- General administrative work including internal coordination of documentation within HOYA Vision Care
- Handling and processing of correspondence with key stakeholders in the study
- Study lens or eyeglasses incoming inspection
- Study eyeglasses final inspection against the prescription
- Remote or on-site training to site opticians or research staffs
- Collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders, when necessary, to support the clinical affairs team and their objectives
- Organization of meetings, scheduling, and planning of events relevant to the clinical affairs team and their projects
Requirements:
- Experience as an optician strongly preferred
- At least five years of experience in the optical/ophthalmic industry is strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong communications skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Background, or interest in, quality assurance related tasks
- Background, or interest in, clinical research related tasks
- Ability to work independently from a remote office
- Ability to travel 30% of time
- Detail-oriented
- Passion for the vision care industry
