What are we looking for?
- Must possess a master's degree from a college or university with a program nationally accredited in social work or psychology, marriage and family therapy, licensed professional counseling, or in a related behavioral health field.
- Highest licensure by a State or National regulatory board that authorizes independent clinical practice that is current, valid, unrestricted and in good standing in at least one of the following: clinical social work, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed professional counselor, or clinical psychologist that meet the DoD requirements. Must provide a photocopy of licensure with their application.
- Tier III must have engaged in at least two years post licensure, that includes at least 2,000 hours post licensure or 4,000 hours post graduate degree, full-time clinical experience in a clinical setting. Two of these years must include documented post-licensure clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment.
- Must have at least two years of post-licensure experience as a CLINICAL SUPERVISOR of professional clinical providers.
- Certified substance abuse counselor (Alcohol and Drug Counselor II, International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium substance abuse counselor certification, or state equivalent) required at time of hire.
- Expert knowledge of substance misuse issues within the Marine Corps and related program policies, procedures, and regulations to serve as an installation subject matter expert is highly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of the concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to substance misuse within an active-duty population and evidence-based and evidence-informed counseling techniques. Ability to provide clinical supervision of subordinates individually and in group settings.
