Who We're Looking For:

EmpiRx Health is in unprecedented growth, and we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Pharmacist.  In this critical role, you will be supporting and ensuring the achievement of clinical goals and strategies through supporting, maintaining, and developing P&T Committee related functions and programs. The Clinical Specialist Pharmacist works closely with the Director of Clinical Risk and Services and the Clinical Service Executive to proactively identify and execute clinical strategies for formulary and clinical program edits.

What You'll Do:

As a Clinical Specialist Pharmacist, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities:

  • Support the Care Management team in ensuring both formulary and utilization strategies are implemented appropriately.
  • Monitor the Drug Pipeline for new brand, biosimilar, generic, and indications, and review eligibility for formulary placement and clinical edit needs.
  • On an on-going basis, maintain existing clinical drug specific protocols and review for updates as guidelines and FDA approvals and guidance changes.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly P&T Committee submissions for formulary, clinical program edit changes, and clinical review protocols.
  • Act as a point of contact for the P&T Committee reviews for all internal teams through the final approval, meeting participation and post-meeting decision documents review.
  • Maintain and create Drug lists for a variety of purposes in collaboration with the Clinical Account Executive or Clinical Risk and Services Team as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with necessary parties to ensure production of client facing formularies for distribution among clients, advisors, members, and vendor partners.
  • Utilize EmpiRx Heath applications for data access and information exchange and tracking with other departments (e.g. Salesforce, DOMO)
  • Proficiently utilize external clinical and drug information tools to support and advance your clinical expertise as well as to stay current of current drug pipeline (e.g., IPD Analytics, UpToDate and MediSpan)
  • Follow all defined practices, processes, and procedures
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects that involve the Clinical Risk and Services team
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the Care Management team for drug lists, P&T, and formulary
  • Handle requests from Care Management and Client Management teams and effectively support fellow peers, as needed
  • Work efficiently with various internal teams and departments

 

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Registered Pharmacist (RPh) (required)
  • Board certifications are a plus
  • At least 3 years of experience with a PBM, health plan or pharmacy benefit consulting company
  • At least 2 years analyzing raw prescription data
  • Experience of working on P&T Committee and /or Formulary Management including coding algorithms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (required)
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, prescription medication analysis and research
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
