Summary:
The Clinical Risk Specialist maintains key data elements that support the Risk Management Program, Quality Division and the healthcare system. This role is responsible for training and education related to the event reporting system as well as evaluating the effectiveness of that training and adjusting these opportunities as needed. The Clinical Risk Specialist supports the Risk Program using clinical and technical knowledge to develop processes that support our culture of safety. Risk Management activities focus on the environment, care or service provided and minimizing the risk of litigation or negative impact on the organizations ability to meet the expectations of its patients and the community.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required with a minimum of three years clinical nursing experience.
  • Master's in business or a health related field a plus.
  • Must have understanding of Quality Improvement methodology / principles.
  • Must have good computer skills and be able to use data for analysis.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work with all members of the health care team to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing healthcare environment and requirements.

Certification/Licensure:
  • Current Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
  • ARM or CPHRM designation preferred.
