Reporting directly to Dr. Yakeel T. Quiroz, Director of the Multicultural Assessment and Research Center and the Alzheimer's Prevention Program-MAPP in the Department of Psychiatry at MGH, the Clinical Research Coordinator-I (CRC) will be responsible for administrative management of ongoing Clinical Research studies, assisting with cognitive testing of adult patients, and for the inception and operation of future studies. The position is ideal for individuals planning to attend graduate or medical school. The CRC will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of study protocols including patient recruitment and screening; creation and submission of study related documents (protocols, consent forms, etc.) to the IRB; monitoring and reporting of all protocol deviations and adverse events to the IRB; gathering of research participants' data; quality assurance and data monitoring; subject payment/reimbursement; completion of case report forms and data entry into online data repositories; ordering equipment and supplies.
Other responsibilities include administration of cognitive tests to research participants and patients; working on recruitment and outreach to the Brazilian community in Boston for imaging, and other research projects; and assisting with MRI data collection and preprocessing.SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: -Bachelor's degree with a major in psychology, neuroscience, biology, computer science or a related field. -Bilingual in English/Portuguese. -Careful attention to detail and strong organization skills. -Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work productively under minimal supervision. -Must be proficient with computers and databases and able to troubleshoot and problem solve independently. -Prior experience with neuroimaging methods (e.g. MRI, PET) preferable.
