Coordinator of Clinical Education
This position is responsible for coordinating all components of clinical and community sites utilized by LIU-School of Nursing’s Undergraduate programs. This will be accomplished by working closely with the Deans, program chair/director, course faculty, administrative staff, and students.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Coordinates relationships with hospitals, clinical and community agency sites being utilized by undergraduate nursing students to complete clinical rotations/preceptorships.
- Responsible for securing and renewing affiliation agreements between LIU School of Nursing and clinical sites.
- Maintains an updated database with specific compliance and/or training requirements for each clinical and/or community facility .
- Coordinates, facilitates, and documents student compliance activities for clinical agencies to include agency orientation, and completion of required forms, EMR trainings, and screenings in addition to initial SON required screenings.
- Participates in Clinical Placement planning and scheduling for students.
- Plans and attends clinical coordination forums, pre-clinical summit events, career fairs, student forums, and conferences as appropriate to prepare and assess clinical program effectiveness.
- Completes work in a timely manner, including preparing, documenting, and tracking Clinical Placement assignments.
- Facilitates student orientation at various clinical agencies as needed.
- Assists with the management of clinical clearances for faculty and students.
- Manages all clinical and site evaluations and manages the databases. Any other duties as may be assigned or required.
