IDEATE Fellowship Clinical Placement Coordinator (Remote)
College of Nursing and Public Health
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide leadership and support for the expansion, implementation, and continuous management of the clinical education components of the grant-funded IDEATE fellowship, which supports students matriculated in the PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner) program at Adelphi University's CNPH (College of Nursing Public Health). This role is grant-funded. The availability and continuation of this role is subject to the availability and renewal of grant funding.
This ia a remote position, however candidates must be based in the NJ, Long Island, CT, NYC metropolitan area to facilitate coordination for potential in-person meetings and/or events.
SCHEDULE:
8 hours per week/ 40 weeks per year
SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the rate for this hourly position is $45 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Planning and expansion: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for researching and establishing relationships with new clinical sites. Assess potential risks and challenges associated with new clinical sites (such as availability, location, or capacity issues). Develop contingency plans as needed. Ensure clinical sites are in alignment with regulatory requirements and the grant's goals.
  2. Networking and collaboration:
    Actively network with healthcare systems, agencies, professional nursing
    associations, and other relevant entities with the aim of fostering
    partnerships. Regularly monitor progress, collect data on key metrics, and
    evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and partnerships.
  3. Affiliation agreements: Collaborate with the College of Nursing and Public Health staff to facilitate the finalization of clinical affiliation agreements with partner institutions.
  4. Special events: Attend meetings, conferences, and other special events to promote the IDEATE program and build connections.
  5. Documentation and reporting: Collect and analyze data from students, preceptors, and clinical sites to evaluate the quality of Clinical Placements and learning experiences. Utilize data findings to improve partnerships with clinical sites and optimize student learning opportunities. Prepare reports and documentation for grant-funding purposes and other relevant metrics.
  6. Liaison and coordination: Serve as a liaison between the CNPH Clinical Placement Department and the IDEATE Fellowship Program. Participate in meetings with the co-directors of the IDEATE fellowship, Clinical Placement Coordinator, curriculum facilitators, and others. Contribute insights, share updates, discuss progress, and address issues as they arise.
  7. Flexibility and adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to effectively address changing priorities, evolving grant requirements, or other expected/unexpected issues that may arise. Perform other job duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Strong networking and relationship-building skills to establish partnerships with healthcare systems and clinical sites.
  2. Knowledge of healthcare systems and clinical education
  3. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, faculty, clinical
    agencies, and others
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nursing, public administration, healthcare administration, higher education administration, etc.) required
  2. Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nursing, public administration, healthcare administration, higher education administration, etc.) preferred
  3. Licensed as a registered nurse, advanced practice nurse, or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner preferred
  4. Experience in Clinical Placement coordination, preferably in educational or healthcare settings
  5. Familiarity with advanced practice nursing education regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
