Ascension Recovery Services (Ascension RS) is considered an industry leader in developing and managing comprehensive, fully integrated behavioral health systems, treating SUD and co-occurring mental illness across the full continuum of care. Our mission is to provide culturally competent, comprehensive and fully integrated, behavioral health care to communities and populations that are underserved and/or where people in need are not accessing care. Our experience in the development of treatment facilities encompasses the entire continuum of care, including detoxification and residential treatment facilities, outpatient programming, sober living homes/recovery residences, peer support services, and job training / workforce reintegration. Additionally, Ascension RS (branded as Wise Path Recovery Centers) owns and operates two intensive outpatient programs offering intensive outpatient programming (IOP), partial hospitalization programming (PHP) and MAT services, and two residential treatment centers; with our third residential center to open summer/fall 2024.
We're searching for a Clinical Operations Director who is a visionary leader who shares our commitment to improving access to substance use disorder and all behavioral health services and embodies our core values: kindness, excellence, empathy, teamwork & integrity. We are specifically looking for an individual with proven experience designing, implementing and leading clinical programming in a fast-paced matrixed organization, experience in consulting or high-growth startups a plus!

Accountabilities
- Leads Clinical Operations strategic planning activities and translate strategic decisions into actionable operational plans.
- Directs and oversees all aspects of the clinical functions of the organization, including development and implementation of policies, procedures and performance metrics pertaining to clinical staff and services.
- Participates in strategic planning and organizational development and provides clinical expertise and leadership in the design and implementation of new projects and innovations across Wise Path facilities and with MSA/Consulting clients.
- Actively collaborates with COO and VP Consulting in the planning and evaluation of programs and in the development of new integrative services and efficacy of services delivered.
- Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with accreditation standards.
- Leads the development and implementation of quality initiatives including client and patient access and satisfaction, provider satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and process improvement.
- Contributes to business development activities. This includes providing critical due diligence and analysis of MSA/Consulting client programs.
- Develops partnerships, coordinates activities, exchanges information, and resolves problems related to clinical competencies and programs; this includes partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure highly effective and efficient care delivery that manages cost, improves quality of outcomes and delivers and excellent patient experience.
- Monitors quality of care provided for all services delivered to meet or exceed benchmarks.
- Maintains knowledge of new and innovative evidence-based practices and develops service lines to bring those innovations to Wise Path facilities, ARS clients and patients.
- Develops, consults, and assists with the implementation and oversight of clinical protocols, policies, and curricula for Ascension owned facilities and MSA/Consulting Clients.
- Trains site directors and managers in supervision and management of treatment programs.
- Provides clinical supervision to direct care providers aimed at increasing competence and independence of providers in provision of care.
- Obtains licensure in multiple states to function as an interim clinical supervisor until the site has identified and hired the permanent staff member to fulfill that role.
- Oversees and ensures the concurrent review process.; including the training of milieu staff in the method, ASAM justifications, use of the concurrent review forms in medical records and coordination with the Revenue cycle management and utilization management staff to provide timely updates necessary to increase the efficacy of advocacy for client stays.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in a clinical field (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology)
- Independently licensed and ability and willingness to obtain and maintain multi-state licensure, based upon the needs of Ascension Recovery Services.
- 10+ years of relevant healthcare experience, with at least 7 years working in substance use disorder; experience in high growth start-ups a plus.
- Willingness to continue to undergo training in evidence-based treatment as the field develops to stay at the forefront of best practices, including “training of the trainer” programs.
- At least 5 years’ experience in management and supervision of services
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to Ascension RS owned facilities in West Virginia and to MSA/Consulting client sites across the nation.
