Mon-Fri 10:00 pm-6:30 am or Wed-Sat 4 x 10 hour overnight shifts
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the General Supervisor, the Lab Technician I will evaluate and perform established criteria in conformance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct routine and complex laboratory testing to include Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Blood Banking and Microbiology (set-up and blood culture gram stain).
Interpret test results
Perform instrument operation and maintenance
Support laboratory clients
Receive and label specimen for testing
Perform testing according to standard procedures.
Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
Maintains departmental proficiency and competency.
Adheres to laboratory quality control, policies and documentation.
Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind the work assignments of this position as business needs warrant.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education / Certifications:
Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science is accepted.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
MT/MLT/MLS preferred.
Experience / Abilities:
Minimum 1 year of lab experience is preferred
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to maintain confidential information

This position is full-time
