Clinical Educator & Program Specialist

Empira is seeking a Clinical Educator and Program Specialist (ideally an RN or APN) to join our team and support aging service quality improvement programs. Empira is collaborative of aging service providers in Minnesota composed of four member organizations: Elim Care, Presbyterian Homes and Services, St Therese and Volunteers of America who are committed to inspiring, challenging and strengthening aging services. The members of Empira work in partnership to innovate, explore, diffuse and optimize applied research that produces clinical excellence and quality of life improvement for older adults.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work collaboratively with the Empira team in the following functions:
- Create innovative aging services quality improvement programs through evidenced based research. Seek and foster partnerships.
- Project management for quality improvement programs.
- Provide education and consultation to Empira clients.
- Continuous optimization of Empira's quality improvement programs.
- Organizing and complete local and national travel from beginning to end, including tickets, accommodation and transportation.
- Others assigned duties as necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Office work, but sits, stands and walks intermittently throughout the working day.
- Ability to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, use of pulling, bending and stooping movements.
- Ability to adapt to changes in daily work hour and schedule.
- Must be able to lift in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Able to handle stressful situations.
- Works inside.
- Licensed Registered Nurse is preferred. Consideration may also be given to others whom hold a bachelor or graduate degree with experience in education, consultation, performance improvement, aging services, public speaking, research, or other area relevant to the position.
- Minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in health care setting.
- Proven experience in public speaking, education ,and consultation.
- Be self motivated, passionate, and dedicated to improving aging services for all stakeholders.
- Able to travel locally and national as much as 80% of the time.
- Demonstrate verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels aging service stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to evaluate reports, programs, systems, and other data against both judgmental and verifiable criteria.
- Demonstrate flexibility and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrate ability to develop educational materials, audits and reports for clinical programs.
- Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish.
- Understand and utilize customized technology and computer software for quality improvement and reporting needs. Proficient with Excel and ability to generate reports from data sets.
- Have a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
- Follow policy and procedures.
