Job Description:
- PURPOSE OF JOB:
To coordinate, develop and facilitate nursing orientation and educational programming for all Associates on 3 West, 4 East, 4 West, and the Vascular Access Team.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate orientation and educational programs for 3 and 4 Acute Care and the Vascular Access Team.
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing practice guidelines and equipment. Facilitates
Educational programs to assure compliance with hospital standards and the Nurse Practice Act as well as regulatory standards and evidence-based practice.
- Communicates in a variety of settings with nursing Associates, patients, physicians, family members, and other members of the healthcare team to achieve excellence in patient care.
- Utilizes analytical skills to creatively develop and revise orientation and education programs for 3 and 4 Acute Care and the Vascular Access Team.
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital policies in order to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the staff.
Job Qualifications:
V. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: BSN required, MSN preferred, professional certification in area of specialty preferred
- Experience: Three years clinical experience
- Other Skills: Teaching experience
