Clinical Chemistry Supervisor

Lighthouse Lab Services is pleased to represent a rapidly growing reference laboratory located in Brooklyn, NY seeking an experienced Chemistry Supervisor to oversee and materially participate in the overall operation of the Chemistry Department.

Position Overview:

• The general supervisor is responsible for day-to-day supervision or oversight of the Laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results for day shift, evening shift and night shift.
• Must be accessible to testing personnel at all times testing is performed to provide on-site, telephone or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the Laboratory Director.
• Is responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptance levels of analytic performance are maintained.
• Assuring that all remedial actions are taken wherever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
• Ensuring that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.
• Providing orientation to all testing personnel.
• Annually evaluating documenting performance of all testing personnel
• Hiring, Firing, setting scheduled for all employees in the chemistry department (Ex: Clinical Laboratory Technologists, Clinical Laboratory Technicians, Chemistry Automation Specialists and Laboratory Aides)
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Must have a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
• ROCHE (Experience is a plus)

Salary/Schedule/Benefits:

• 1st shift
• Salary up to $150,000 yearly (DOE)
• 15 vacation days per year
