GENERAL SUMMARY
To provide clerical and receptionist support to a section of the Sheriff's Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transcribe reports, forms, and correspondence. Minimum 60 wpm.
- Answer incoming calls, provide information, and/or direct callers to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate with section staff and other government agencies.
- Maintains records system for the administration staff.
- Provide inmate accounting.
- Greet and correspond with citizens and officials.
- Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma with an additional two (2) years of college. Preference is given to those with experience in criminal justice, law, or law enforcement.
- One year of experience as a receptionist/clerical person is preferred.
- Must have exceptional office skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and Excel programs, good computer and keyboard skills, and the ability to accurately transcribe using standard transcription equipment.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting.
- Ability to maintain confidentially.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug test.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
