Job Description:
The Department of Sponsored Programs at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Clerical Specialist for Payroll and Grant Reporting. Expectations include, but are not limited to, performing all office activities for the Research Foundation in regard to payroll, fellowship and IFR payments, and a variety of Grant Reporting.
The Sponsored Programs office is a small business office for Faculty, and staff, to utilize for grant purposes. From the beginning stages of grant writing to the maintenance of funding, purchasing equipment, and hiring personnel, this office offers support though the grant life cycle. The office is composed of 6 professionals who support SUNY faculty and staff. The position requires fiscal, customer service and organizational skills for the effective management of grant-paid personnel transactions, handling confidential and sensitive information, and maintaining fiscal records and reporting in compliance with federal OMB Uniform Guidance.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Being the point of contact for the Research Foundation payroll, fellowship payments, IFR (salary paid via SUNY) payments
- Processing biweekly payroll and resolving employee payment discrepancies
- Complete reporting and auditing for grant final reporting, effort reporting and cost share (cost match) reporting
- Providing back-up to the Purchasing and Accounts Payable function
- Function as Facilitator for Human Subjects Research protocol submissions (IRB)

*This position offers the opportunity for one day a week telecommuting.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- 2-year associates degree OR 60 college credits, equivalent
- 3 years of progressive clerical experience
- Well-developed customer service skills
- Experience working with computer systems
- Experience working with payroll
Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations
