POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is part of the GDA Laboratory Administration located in Tifton, Georgia, and is a part of the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Laboratory Division.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30 pm until 4:30 pm
This is hourly paid work performing administrative, clerical, and general office duties.
Positions in this job are established for less than 9 months or are scheduled for less than 30 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits if the position status is temporary (i.e., SCOA 513).
Positions in this job are established for more than 9 months and scheduled for greater than 30 hours per week if the position status is permanent labor (i.e., SCOA 512).
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision:
- performs a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions for the Tifton Laboratory administrative office.
- May enter date and/or process documents and records.
- The work includes operating standard office equipment.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with customer service.
- Working knowledge of Windows computer operating system and applications including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent reading comprehension, receptivity to training, and ability to follow specific instructions.
- Good interpersonal skills (teamwork, cooperation)
- Good organizational skills and time management
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or two years of college.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of Pesticide Laws and Regulations
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
