Civil/Construction CAD Technician

Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Engineering and Development, this position will contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the organization by providing support related to all engineering and construction projects.
Civil/Structural/Construction background to evaluate layout efficiencies with our buildings, properties, and material processing equipment or to assist in the evaluation of new equipment both mobile and fixed.
Hands-On Role - this role requires the successful candidate to go out to our individual work sites or travel to our other operations and work with our Operations staff.
Project Design - Our employees 'wear multiple hats'. The ideal candidate will be flexible in terms of job duties and providing assistance to other areas, juggle multiple projects in different stages of development
Projects include logistic/warehouse/storage buildings facilities & infrastructure, marine terminal/docks and maritime transportation equipment and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
*Collaborate with operations staff, engineers, architects, etc to design, permit, and construct a wide variety of facility improvements/new construction projects to support the ongoing growth of the company
*Develop work scopes for various construction trades utilizing finalized design drawings/documentation
*Consult with engineers and other staff to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information and assistance.
*Estimate costs, solicit bids for, and support drafting/design for engineering and construction projects, preparing/coordinating associated contract documents.
*Construction Estimating and Project Management
*Ensure compliance with all environmental permits.
*Create and prepare project reports as needed.
*Project Planning/Project Management
*Drawing Site Layouts and Storage Calculations.
*Scheduling & overseeing contractors.
*Setting up site maintenance plans
Qualifications
*Associates or Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural/Construction Engineering, Compute Aided Design or Engineering Technology required
*Strong verbal/written communication skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
*Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with vendors, customers, management and other employees.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office, 3+ years of drafting/designing, AutoCAD/Revit or similar programs.
