Form of workOur client, a leading firm in Civil Engineering, construction services, landscape architecture, and more, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects. This role is central to the company’s operations, encompassing Civil Engineering, surveying/mapping, stormwater engineering, transportation planning, traffic engineering, utility engineering, and urban design projects.
As a Project Manager, you will act as the primary liaison among contractors, agencies, and stakeholders, ensuring project success from start to finish. This position demands a professional who is not only adept at managing complex projects but also skilled in navigating the intricacies of stakeholder communication and compliance with various engineering standards.
Project Manager Job Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of communication among contractors, agencies, and stakeholders, including utilities, emergency services, and the public.
Ensure all project activities comply with contract documents.
Monitor and assess potential change orders for their impact on the project budget and timeline.
Review and approve project submittals, including materials and traffic control plans.
Oversee preconstruction reviews and ongoing project schedule assessments to meet milestones and minimize delay claims.
Lead weekly project meetings with all stakeholders to ensure consistent progress and address any concerns.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent job site experience.
Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
3-4 years of relevant experience, ready to integrate quickly into ongoing projects (“plug & play”).
Valid driver’s license with the ability to work actively on construction sites, including navigating uneven terrain and adhering to safety protocols.
Familiarity with WSDOT Standard Specifications and WSDOT Standard Plans, including ADA requirements, is essential.
