Halff is actively seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Water Resources team in our Frisco, TX office. The Intern will help with drainage and stormwater analysis and design. The Intern will be responsible for helping perform Water Resources design, support projects in Water Resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other engineering tasks as needed.
Civil Engineering Intern – Water Resources Responsibilities:
- Design Civil Engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Help design drainage and stormwater analysis and design
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects
- Perform drafting CAD work
- Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
- Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
Civil Engineering Intern – Water Resources Requirements:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
- Solid relationship and team building skills
- Self-motivated and strong organization skills
- Great communication skills
- Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is preferred
- ArcGIS or XP-SWMM experience preferred
Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.
