H&H Civil Engineer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Effectively manage H&H engineering work and coordinate with other disciplines
H&H modeling
Floodplain mapping
H&H analysis and design of hydraulic structures or facilities
Preparation of reports, letters, and memoranda
Assist civil design teams with floodplain and stormwater analysis for roadway, grading, drainage, erosion control, utility and site development projects for municipal capital improvement projects as well as residential and commercial development
Prepare construction plans, design calculations, specifications, bid documents and cost estimates
Set and monitor project budgets and schedules
Communicate clearly with clients (internal and external) and coordinate with city staff
Participate in business development
Cultivate successful client relationships
Provide mentoring and career development for junior engineers and civil designers

SKILLS
Technical writing, including emails, letters and memos
Experience in mentoring staff
Excellent task management, communication, organization and decision-making skills
HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
EPA-SWMM, XP-SWMM, InfoWorks, or other dynamic stormwater modeling software
ArcGIS mapping software
Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
Multi-tasking
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering design for municipal/commercial/site and/or residential land development projects (H&H modeling)
PE License
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years’ experience in H&H modeling
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification
