BUILD YOUR CAREER AT CMT!! Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT), a consulting engineering firm, seeks to add a talented Civil Engineer to our team located in Kansas City, MO. Projects associated with this position vary but are all civil-related, including but not limited to initial site evaluation, site due diligence, site layout, grading & drainage, permitting, stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP), and utility services. For over 75 years, CMT engineers have planned and designed property development, transportation, sewer, drinking water, storm drainage, and airport projects. Responsibilities will include working closely with project engineers and project managers in performing duties such as terrain modeling, earthwork analysis, site utility conveyance and permitting, hydraulic design, stormwater detention and water quality modeling and system design, preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications, and design and preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans. Candidate shall have the ability to work in a team environment involving multiple engineering disciplines as well as the clients' management, operations and maintenance staff. Work tasks may also include design, report writing, field investigations, cost estimating, construction observation, attendance at client meetings and overnight travel to project sites.
Position Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required. A Master's degree in advanced studies will be recognized in the evaluation process.
- Previous engineering experience, or internship experience, is preferred but not required.
- Registered Engineer Intern that has passed the FE exam or is taking steps to become a certified Engineer Intern.
- Experience using AutoCAD or Civil 3D software is preferred. Experience with other design and analysis software tools will be recognized in the evaluation process.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects, work in an environment to learn quickly, take initiative, and interact with a variety of people
- Ability to work in the field as needed
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
