The City of PortSt. Lucie Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for the following positions:
Part Time Rec Aide- A normal day consists of varied responsibilities. There is lots of interaction with the public, including taking program registrations/reservations, answering phone calls, monitoring facility use. Usually there is some movement involved in setting up for (and possibly assisting with) programs and events. There is some clerical work involved, including checking emails and making copies. There is also light maintenance work involved in picking up after patrons.
Part Time and Full Time Maintenance Workers – Maintenance workers schedules and assigned locations vary. A typical day will include opening, closing, and monitoring assigned parks. This includes opening or securing gates, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash receptacles, litter control, inspecting playgrounds, and incident reporting. Other tasks assigned include, general landscaping, athletic field maintenance, cleaning, pest control, and preparation of park amenities for reservations and public use. Maintenance workers will regularly interact with the public.
Part Time Recreation Aide – Fitness – Not your typical fitness center… At both of our facilities, you become part of a family. As a team, we are involved with our members’ experience which includes providing excellent customer service. Our P/T Recreation Aides assist with membership registrations and class reservations as well as orienting our members on the fitness equipment. We are meticulous about the upkeep or our equipment in our daily cleaning of our fitness centers and classrooms. Additionally, there are opportunities for program involvement, group class instruction, and personal training.
Volunteer- A volunteer’s duties vary based on their location but can include coaching youth basketball or scorekeeping for games. Volunteers at the golf course might utilize volunteers in four critical positions to ensure The Saints Golf Course operation is running smoothly on a daily basis. We have volunteers fill the positions of cart attendants, starters, rangers and driving range pickers. The hours are from 6:30 am to 6:30 p.m. every day and without the volunteer staff working these positions, the golf course would be significantly challenged to provide the quality recreational services we offer.
