Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking aRecreation Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary health care team, providing care while promoting a safe, compassionate patient care environment. The Recreational Therapistwill develop individualized plans of care to enhance patient quality of life.
What will you do in this role?
Providesrecreational/art/music/dance/movement therapy and psychoeducational services consistent with treatment plan goals
Supports safe and healthy leisure and recreation, and special events
Builds programming to meet the psychological, emotional, communicative, and social needs of our diverse patient population
Makes ongoing evaluations of the patient’s condition and progress and the effectiveness of the treatment program
What qualifications will you need?
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Activities Therapyis required
Master’s Degree is preferred
Current certification in one of the follow isrequired:
CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist)
MT-BC (Music Therapist – Board Certified)
ATR-BC (Art Therapist – Board Certified)
BC-DMT (Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist)
BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) arerequired
Previousexperience is preferred
