Church of St. Andrew is a small Episcopal congregation in NON_PROFIT_ASSOCIATION in Marblehead, MA. We are professional, and social, and our goal is to provide a welcoming environment for all people entering our space. Assist with members needs as able. The Sexton is a part of the small staff and as such, represents the Church during thier time on campus.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who can manage thier own time to join our team as a church Sexton. As a Sexton, you will be responsible for performing a variety of custodial and maintenance duties to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities. Occasional time needed for set up and take down for events (funerals, speaker series, etc.) Generally the work is done on Wednesdays and Sundays in the morning. This is a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors.

Duties:

- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors

- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas

- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners

- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished

- Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners

- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, such as light bulb replacement or minor repairs

- Adhere to safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary

Requirements:

- Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards

- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)

- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.41 - $21.50 per hour
