Responsibilities:
Relationships
- Build relationships with families and children.
- Help children build positive relationships with each other.
- Celebrate the unique needs, interests, and abilities of every child.
Center Environment
- Use safe KLC practices to keep the environment safe and healthy.
- Create an enriched learning environment by creating a physical space that inspires curiosity, supports child development, and builds community.
Curriculum and Child Development
- Implements the KLC curriculum that develops children through intentional learning experiences.
- Observe, document, and use other forms of assessment to promote child development.
- Support children’s healthy development by using best practices in teaching.
Professionalism
- Shows ethical and professional conduct by treating children, families, and co-workers with respect and compassion.
- Continuously strive to meet full teaching potential through ongoing professional development.
- Actively promotes engagement in the workplace and a positive reputation in the community.
Skills and Qualifications
- Customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (or willingness to obtain)
- Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English.
- Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
- Able to assume postures at low levels to allow physical contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
