Job Summary: Northminster Presbyterian Church offers a program called “My Morning Out,” which allows parents to leave their children (age 18 months to 3 years) for 2 and ½ hours in the church nursery, where they are watched by loving and capable caregivers. This program is offered three to four days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:15am to 11:45am. The position of the MMO Director or Co-Director consists of providing quality and loving care to the children, leading the activities during each morning session, and completing administrative tasks as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide quality and loving care to the children
- Assure that the nursery is clean and safe each morning
- Greet each child and parent/caregiver as they arrive, making sure that each child is signed in and belongings are clearly labeled.
- Communicate with each parent/caregiver as they leave the nursery
- Work with each parent/caregiver to make the children as comfortable as possible
- Contact parent/caregiver as needed (emergencies, concerns with children, etc.).
- Orient, supervise and support MMO co-director and substitute teachers assuring that the standards set in the Nursery Guidelines are followed.
- Call substitute teachers if required.
- Maintain MMO release form and records of each child (including emergency parent/caregiver contact list.).
- Work closely with the overall Nursery Supervisor with any needs/concerns with the nursery room.
- Work in collaboration with co-director
- Lead activities during morning session
- Manage individual time sheet
- Arrive on time (9:00am each morning)
- Close/lock up nursery following each morning session
- Tidy room and clean toys as needed
- Remove all trash from room after each use
- Coordinate seasonal projects for children (music, art projects, etc.)
- Miscellaneous administrative duties as required (e.g., billing, updating sign in sheets, snack inventory etc)
- Complete Annual Report–due at the end of December
- Attend staff meetings as required by Supervisor
- Meet monthly with Supervisor as a “check-in”
- Work closely with Northminster Nursery School and their staff
- Market and publicize MMO as needed to promote enrollment
Time Commitment:
· Class time: 9-12 hours week. Depending on whether there are 3 or 4 sessions per week
· Registration: 4 hours each session – 3-4 times/year
· Meet with Supervisor, Jessica Gregory – 1 hour per month
· Staff meeting every 3 months – 2 hours
· Tours – 1 hour as needed, usually once a month, by appointment only.
· Sam’s Club – 1 hour per month
· Craft Shopping/Planning – 2 hours – 3 or 4 times year
· Classroom Setup – 6-7 hours per year
· Quarterly Newsletter – 2 hours each quarter

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 9 – 12 per week
