Job description

Caregiver - Shifts available between 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Reports To: Lead Caregiver Supervisory Responsibility: No

Position Summary:

To further the mission of the YMCA through preparing and conducting activities that fit the requirements of the YMCA. The Director/Lead Caregiver will build a partnership with employees, parents, children, and community. This will be done through daily communication that forms a positive, relationship-centered approach that aides in the success of children and families being served.

Qualifications:

Be at least 19 years of age. (b) Have a high school diploma or GED.

Preferred:

2. Interest in working toward credentials or time to become a Lead Caregiver (pg. 10 LARA rules)

3. Interest in understanding and competency with child development theory.

4. Supportive with culture development while implementing a highly effective center.

5. High energy, dynamic personality, and ability to work and engage infants, toddlers and preschool children in an inclusive setting.

Preferred Experience:

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Foster a risk management program.

2. Support Licensing Policy & Regulation

3. Maintain and foster educational best practice standards and expectations.

4. Ability to implement curriculum to meet best practice standards.

5. Lead volunteers by modeling appropriate behavior and provide opportunities for volunteer participation.

6. Deliver programming that stimulates spirit, mind, and body.

7. Provide guidance for staff and volunteers in an even-tempered manner.

8. Practice Positive Behavior Management according to YMCA Policy and best practices. Our management of our children should be emulated in the management of our space.

9. Communicate effectively with all persons included in program operations.
