The Family Centered Safety and Support Section (FCSSS) Family Intake and Engagement Unit is dedicated to the implementation of early intervention programs that support family safety and well-being.
The FCSSS is looking for an Analyst with an interest in policy and program activities which support families through the development of trauma-informed, early intervention services and practices designed to keep families safely together. The Analyst must be dedicated to work with policies directly impacting Child Welfare emergency response programs, while aligning with the CDSS' vision for prevention and early intervention within an integrated system of care for all Californians. The FCSSS provides a supportive environment for staff development and promotes teamwork and interdisciplinary thinking to accomplish outlined goals and objectives. Telework / Remote Work Information: This position has been designated as eligible for telework and is currently a remote position. The position may however require in-person attendance when requested. Advance in-person notice will be provided when possible. The employee would report to CDSS headquarters (744 P Street) in Sacramento if/when required to attend mandated in-person meetings, trainings, etc. Expenses related to travel to the office for required events are the responsibility of the employee. If telework/remote work ends, the position will have to report to CDSS headquarters in Sacramento.

Working Conditions
This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted with the application. The SOQ should be typed size 12, Arial font, single spaced, and no more than two pages in length. Please write out each question followed by the response.
1. Explain how your education, training, experience, and skills qualify you for this position.
2. Describe your experience that has prepared you to effectively lead long-term projects. Provide examples of planning and coordination, working with stakeholders and providing technical assistance.
3. Describe a situation in which you were able to recognize a problem, identify and collect necessary data to inform possible solutions and make recommendations for a resolution.
This position is subject to fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice.

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for an appointment.

The analyst will perform complex, journey level analytical staff work related to Child Welfare services policy and program development. The analyst will possess strong writing, collaboration, research and analytical skills to complete policy interpretations, develop and implement state practices, and regulations related to Child Welfare services; specifically related to Emergency Response services, promoting child and family safety and well-being, with the overarching goal of keeping families intact. The ability to think creatively and work independently as well as collaboratively to solve problems and innovate are essential and encouraged.
