Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.


We are currently seeking a full-timeChief Operations Officerto oversee all internal and integrated operations of the agency. Guided by the objectives of agency, the COO provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure the agency has the proper procedures, operational controls, administrative & reporting, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure quality care, financial strength, and operational efficiency. Major areas of responsibility include: Strategic Planning, Operational Management, Program Management and Evaluation, Health Information Technology, Business Development, Compliance, and IT.


The COO will oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met, implementing strategies into daily operations to meet the Agency’s objectives. In this capacity, the COO carries responsibility for integrating the strategic plan of the organization with the operations Agency. Exercise management responsibility over the agency ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, community partners and staff. Under the direction of the CEO and Board, the COO will work collaboratively with the organization's clinical teams to ensure optimal financial results.



Essential Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Leads efforts to ensure facility’s strategic initiatives and daily operations are carried out in an efficient and effective manner accounting for quality of care, patient safety, and patient/referral satisfaction.
  • Provides inspirational leadership: developing talent and encouraging a positive and collaborative workplace environment.
  • Ensuring new program and services development and support, as well as continuity of clinical treatments focusing on providing the highest quality care to our clients.
  • Maintaining a strong referral base through active marketing and community outreach.
  • Maintaining compliance with CARF State and Federal regulations, while continually monitoring the agency’s service, financial, operations and delivery systems to assure consistent quality outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the executive leadership and management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
  • Drives performance improvement, monitors implementation and sustains of the agency’s Quality Assurance activities and assures adherence with all related federal, state and regulatory compliance requirements in coordination with the Compliance Department.
  • Assures approach to staffing effectively provides the highest quality service, high patient satisfaction and effective, safe, and quality treatment.
  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO.
  • Monitor performance with tracking software and take corrective measures when necessary and prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
  • Setting direction and deploying resources effectively while leading all aspects of key talent retention, performance management and staffing
  • Manages budgets and resource allocation effectively for their assigned area: Assess current operations performance, processes, and full responsibility for their budget.
  • Represents the agency in the community, with clients, stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with community representatives and key strategic partners connected to projects and funding.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures in accordance with State regulations and licensing, as well as accreditation bodies
  • Continuously evaluate and design a clinical program that is based in evidence-based practices and meets the changing needs of the population served.
  • Leads and/or Participates as a member of the following committees: Executive Leadership, Leadership Council, Health and Safety Council, Quality Improvement, & Strategic Planning,
  • Attends agency Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Must be able to analyze, interpret, and report data efficiently and effectively to various levels of the organization.

  • Professional approach to all functions and relationships with all levels of staff, clients, other agencies, and the public.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of high-level leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of assigned business functions
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
