Job Summary:The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for directing and coordinating clinical care activities in support of the goals and objectives of the Hospital District as established by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Governing authority. CNO ensures the quality, safety of clinical services meet Accreditation standards. This individual will guide and direct management in the development and promotion of new and existing services in alignment with the strategic direction established by the CEO and the Governing authority. CNO oversees numerous clinical departments to include areas that provide direct patient care and other supportive ancillary services.

Education Background and Experience
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licensure / Certifications:
Current State of Washington Registered Nurse Licensure.
Required Experience:
Ten (10) years related experience at a management level within a Hospital setting. Proven record building relationships with board members, physicians, employees, and the community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration or equivalent. 5 years as Sr. Level Nursing Leader in a Hospital or Health Care setting.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate in the development of the district’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
Defines and implements key performance indications and strategic objectives for each division and, as appropriate, the entire organization, facilitates measurement of the objectives, reporting results to the executive team.
Analyze operations to evaluate performance of a company or its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
Confer with board members, organization officials, or staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
Facilitate the implementation of new systems and major modifications of existing systems to reduce downtime.
Prepares for and ensures ongoing preparation for Accreditation standards.
Prepare or present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services.
Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the district’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
