This position will directly report to the President / CEO and serve as the Chief Credit Officer as well as Senior Lending Officer for the organization. This is an executive leadership position and requires commensurate experience and knowledge in all aspects of leading a lending organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all lending activities, including real estate, commercial, consumer lending, collections, and loan servicing on a day-to-day basis.

The main priorities of this position are to manage the lending risk of the organization, develop and implement lending strategies to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization, and ensure responsible growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans for business units in collaboration with lending, operations, risk, and marketing teams to achieve organizational objectives. Ensure organization's goals are met by improving net revenue contributions, controlling credit risk, delinquency, and losses across all business lines.
  • Play a leadership role in planning, implementing, and directing lending strategies for the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate and direct the development, implementation, and achievement of the division's budget and operating plans to meet goals and strategic objectives.
  • Drive the strategic plan for overseeing and implementing digital lending.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, including but not limited to, SAFE Act and Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Actively participate in various committees such as ALCO, Leadership committee, and Strategy Committee.
  • Serve as Chairman of the Loan Committee.
  • Manage the loan quality of the organization and ensure that programs, pricing, policies, and standards provide high-quality assets for the portfolio.
  • Ensure the credit quality of the loan portfolio.
  • Monitor portfolio balances to ensure that the organization's goals remain viable.
  • Set division expectations for each position to ensure clear understanding of individual performance.
  • Recommend effective pricing strategies for all lending products.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed, allowing for efficient workflow without missed steps that could cause negative financial trends.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in a related field.
  • The candidate must have diverse knowledge of lending across all functional departments, including regulatory compliance, underwriting requirements, program design, pricing, digital delivery, and performance metrics.
  • The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the mortgage markets and industry, including secondary marketing, pricing, and multiple investor guidelines and requirements in the current regulatory environment.
  • The candidate must have experience in setting loan risk criteria to be performed by automated loan approval systems with a tie back to setting rates.
