Our confidential client is seeking an exceptional Global Chief Information Security Officerbased in Vancouver, BC. This critical role entails leading global strategy for the Information Security division, encompassing technical, strategic, leadership, and client-facing aspects. The ideal candidate should possess security expertise as well as an engineering mindset, allowing them to lead, mentor, and develop the security function from engineering and architecture to strategic security posture.


You will work closely with our CIO, CFO, VP of Software Development, and other leaders to ensure we build and maintain secure products and systems, including corporate IT security, digital product security, cloud infrastructure security, and our overall security posture. Your experience building security teams, developing and executing cybersecurity strategy, and acting as a strategic partner to senior leaders by proactively identifying opportunities for innovation, improvement, and growth will be invaluable. Additionally, your visionary global leadership will involve advising customers and business leaders on best Information Security practices while building a strong, global technical team and infrastructure.

Ideally, you will

  • Have a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in Information Security leadership, ideally in a software/cloud environment, with 3+ years of experience at the C-level
  • Document everything. For real. Our client ishighly distributed; asynchronous communication is key
  • Possess strong experience leading global security strategy
  • Have experience in cyber warfare tactics and their implications for operational security
  • Assume full ownership of our security posture and roadmap, ensuring each item on our roadmap fits into the overall business strategy
  • Possess a passion for security and a relentless pursuit of excellence
  • Ensure alignment to documented industry standards for security, facilitating internal audits and working with third-party auditors as needed to maintain compliance
  • Inspire, manage, and lead a high-functioning cybersecurity team to achieve our vision, setting priorities and holding the team accountable for clear goals & milestones
  • Become an expert in our products, technology, and systems
  • Lead the company smoothly through change, adoption of process improvements, and further adoption of best practices while minimizing friction or disruption
  • Take a charismatic approach to communicating security posture or negotiating security agreements with other C-level and VP-level stakeholders in enterprise companies
  • Influence security awareness with external customers
  • Demonstrate the highest integrity and honesty in your work and your interactions with others
  • Practice resourcefulness and self-motivation with a strong sense of accountability
  • Pay exceptional attention-to-detail
  • Collaborate successfully with other teams to build alignment (debate, decide, commit) across a multi-disciplinary organization.
  • Have a self-starter mentality plus a natural curiosity to make things more efficient and effective

  • Ensure applicable security metrics are tracked and measured appropriately to demonstrate effectiveness and allow for continuous optimization
