Summary: Nice North America is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial systems and contribute to our ongoing success. As a key member of our high-performing executive team, the CFO will play a pivotal role in analyzing, strategizing, and maintaining the financial health of the organization. We are looking for a seasoned strategist with expertise in accounting practices, operations, and adaptability to changes in scale. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing/ operations, thrive in a leadership role, and the ability to demonstrate clear and effective communication skills.
Salary: $260,000 to $340,000 depending on experience.
Location: Carlsbad, CA (Hybrid schedule, 3 days in office, 2 days remote.)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct the fiscal functions of the company in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost reimbursement principles.
- Build credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports to support decision-making by the CEO, President, Board, and senior managers.
- Enhance, develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to improve overall operational effectiveness.
- Monitor business performance using tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management teams, and the entire company.
- Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, evaluating and managing capital structure, and overseeing fundraising initiatives.
- Continuously improve the budgeting process through educating department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, such as potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, pension funds, and investments.
- Optimize bank and deposit relationships, initiating appropriate strategies to enhance the cash position.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism, including a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Continuously improve the timeliness and accuracy of the company's cash flow and management of the billing process (A/R).
- Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, emphasizing professional and personal growth opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against the budget, oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting departments, and manage the preparation of all financial reports.
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts, conduct financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
- Establish short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements, implement, and maintain department policies and standards.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 20 years of direct experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 15 with a Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, plus 10 years managerial experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position; CPA (preferred).
- Proven ability to lead the strategic direction for Finance & Accounting within an organization.
- Preferably background in operations/ manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.
- Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting, forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Computer literacy required, including skills in Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
- Positive attitude, self-motivated and eager to succeed.
