To be a successful Chief Financial Officer you must become able to do the following always:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic direction and has executive responsibility for the Finance and Facilities/Transportation Departments.
Direct and supervise the activities of the Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Human Resources &Training, and the Vice President Technology & Facilities utilizing the Supervision for Success model.
Train and assist various personnel on budget preparation; prepare and present to Board of Directors and/or CEO the annual fiscal budget for approval. Consult with various personnel on comparison of actual results versus budget and accountability for differences.
Oversee the internal audit functions and design/implement internal control system.
Ensure Company’s fiscal functions meet business plan objectives and GAAP. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory interaction. Oversee and advise on cost and reimbursement strategies. Participate in contractual negotiations.
Ensure departments operate within budget and consistent with Board policies.
Attend meetings of, respond to, and provide information and advice for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors and Foundation Board of Directors. Carry out directives and decisions.
Ensure compliance with the Finance specifications for Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or other accreditation agency, as well as all IRS, Federal and State regulations pertaining to Finance and Taxes.
Ensure the facilities and transportation needs of the organization are met and insured adequately.
Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.
To qualify for this job, you need to have:
Degree Requirements - master’s degree in business administration or accounting.
License Requirements - Certified Public Accountant in the State of Kansas and/or Certified Management Accountant.
Work Experience – 3-5 years successful fiscal management experience 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
21 years of age. Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and physical and drug screening.
Maintain company-required training.
Physical working conditions - Able to travel, driving company or personal vehicle including at night, travel throughout State. Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends Subject to inside
