50 years of firsts. LIFESPAN Services, a "first-time" organization, helping individuals experience many firsts is seeking a full time Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO, a member of the LIFESPAN Stewardship Team has oversight of managing a $20M annual budget operating 100 programs and services across 23 counties in North Carolina.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance and accounting combined with a computer science and analytics background
- 3 - 5 years in an executive position with finance oversight required
- Not-for-profit, healthcare management, banking experience desired
- Leadership and Management required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees finance department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
- Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Directs, analyzes and present financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, board reports, tax returns, funder, and governmental agency reports.
- Strategize potential impacts of a variety of economic, legislative and sector conditions on the organization's revenue.
- Act as main point of contact with governmental agencies on matters of contracts, budgets, billings, etc and work with COO to ensure accuracy of all contracts.
- Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place within the corporation and that these controls are effective in maintaining the integrity of the accounting systems.
- Serve as corporate representative during external audit reviews.
- Provides cash flow and ratio analysis to analyze the liquidity, operational efficiency and profitability.
- Maintain corporate banking relationships and manage all interactions with banking partners.
- Actively participate in merger/acquisition analysis, any significant purchase or leasing arrangement and any other material dealings.
- In collaboration with the CEO, oversee and monitor investment of funds, engage with investment bankers to maximize utilization of investment policy parameters as approved by the BOD and raise additional capital.
- Ensure the maintenance of financial records and recordkeeping systems, including grant/fund accounting, to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and contractual requirements.
- Engage accounting staff to create and implement a financial strategic plan and ensure corporate perspective in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Studies long-range trends and participate in the development and implementation of the corporate mission, vision, organizational goals, strategy, operating policies and objectives.
