We are looking for a CFO to lead us into the next growth phase of the company. This includes implementation of systems, process and policy to streamline transactions, and protect company assets. We need a CFO with a strong understanding of GAAP, QBO, other ERP systems, forecast models, and someone who is able to use this knowledge to provide strategic perspective and to constructively challenge our teams - ensuring that business decisions are grounded in solid financial criteria.

- Take responsibility (either directly or via staff) for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy
- Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting for the same
- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
- Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows
- Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action
- Provide clear and effective communication to both management and internal team members
- Provide fiduciary responsibility by establishing checks and balances throughout the company for accountability and transparency
- Manage the company’s cash flow on a daily basis
- Develop and manage relationships with the company’s external partners including banker, insurance broker, tax preparer and audit team
- Work with management to efficiently develop annual budgets. Monitor progress, provide feedback, analyze and implement required adjustments
- Analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
- Perform risk management analysis and review and manage insurance coverage for protection against potential liabilities
- Establish best accounting practices according to GAAP and tax law
- Manage tax compliance for various states, local and federal taxes including sales and use tax, property, payroll and income taxes
- Arrange for annual audits, reviews and income tax filings
- Prepare monthly WIP’s and % complete schedules
- Coordinate month-end close, account reconciliations and year end closing process
- Establish and implement allocation methodology to provide reporting by location (division manager) to support owners in location accountability
- Supervise the accounting team including AP/AR and Payroll
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency of the accounting systems while properly managing transactions and financial reporting
- Review and approve timely AP payments, monitor and ensure accounts receivables are collected promptly and payroll is processed in a timely manner
- Oversee 401K program
- Lead identification and implementation of the new ERP system
- Partner with HR operations by coordinating with external service providers (ex: payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR
- Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for, management team
- Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities
- Required skills and qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations
- Executive experience with roofing/construction business models and their associated revenue recognition
- Professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant)
