Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee property maintenance comprehensively, managing facilities, guest rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, and collaborating closely with property management and departmental leaders. The Chief Engineer will lead a team of maintenance technicians and work to foster a collaborative environment to achieve our hotel's goals.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures while maintaining the highest standards of maintenance.
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel, identifying and addressing maintenance trends and issues
- promptly.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to achieve hotel objectives, contributing to a proactive and interactive working environment.
- Direct daily activities, plan schedules, and manage department equipment and supply inventory efficiently.
- Respond promptly to maintenance needs and ensure professional and courteous service to guests and staff.
- Install and maintain equipment related to HVAC, water treatment, fire safety, etc.
- Perform daily property inspections and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
- Provide on-call support for emergencies and cover shifts as needed.
- Be flexible to adjust schedules as management deems necessary to properly cover business needs.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Technical certifications or experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and computer literacy.
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to maintain composure in all situations.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English.
- Knowledge of common equipment malfunctions and ability to repair basic heating and A/C systems.
- Familiarity with pool and spa chemicals, regulations, and equipment maintenance.
- Elevator and fire equipment handling proficiency.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including operating machinery, lifting objects, and frequent bending/stooping.
Work closely with and manage vendors, keeping accurate records and managing inspections.
