Chief Development Officer

Our client, The Tikvah Fund www.tikvahfund.org seeks to hire a full time Chief
Development Officer (CDO) to help us strengthen, scale, and sustain their significant
growth.
Over the past few years, they have built a remarkable development team. Working with
them is a great privilege. They are master relationship-builders and true believers in
Tikvah’s mission. They are both creative and strategic.
They need an experienced CDO to help lead, manage, and scale their development efforts
as Tikvah moves from running great programs to building an enduring set of Jewish
institutions. Reporting to the CEO, the CDO will also partner with their senior management
team to lead Tikvah into the future.
We are excited to consider CDO candidates with diverse professional and civic
backgrounds. This includes development professionals who have helped build other civic
institutions; experienced lay leaders interested in working full-time for the Jewish people
and Jewish state.
The right candidate will combine four key attributes:
A strong belief in Tikvah’s mission to advance serious ideas about the great
challenges facing the Jewish people, to educate the next generation of Jewish and
Zionist leaders, and to strengthen our two exceptional nations: America and Israel.
A proven ability to mobilize partners and supporters to invest in ideas-driven
organizations.

programs and new institutions.
The ability to lead and manage an exceptional team.

ability
and desire to spend considerable time at Tikvah's main offices in New York City.
Qualifications:
Five years’ experience at an Executive Development position.
Proven success in closing Major Gifts
Demonstrated success in setting and executing a fundraising strategy that includes
an
annual multi-faceted campaign, as well as special campaign projects.
Strong leadership, management, and supervision skills that include the ability to
motivate, influence, and hold the team accountable to high standards and goals.
Demonstrated organizational, public speaking and writing skills, good knowledge of
technology and social media, managing large events are all essential to succeed.
Compassion and passion are important personality traits.
The ideal candidate must possess a deep familiarity with and passion for Jewish
philanthropy.
Self-confidence, high energy, a “can-do” personality and a passion to successfully
accomplish established team goals.
Exceptional reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including an ability to
translate ideas and concepts into clear, actionable items.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
