Job description

The Research Scientist Supervisor II (RS Sup II) will use epidemiologic, biostatistical, and survey techniques, and health services theoretical models and research methods to plan, organize, and direct the scientific, multidisciplinary work of the Clinical Quality and Performance Reporting Section (CQPRS) of the Data Science Branch within the Enterprise Data and Information Management program. The Section provides department-wide leadership related to reporting on quality of care, identifying care gaps, supporting quality improvement efforts, and measuring the impact of DHCS programs/priorities on quality of care, health care utilization, health outcomes, and health equity. The Section also develops and manages data work products for both internal and external DHCS stakeholders that support the DHCS Comprehensive Quality Strategy and Population Health Management to monitor population health, strengthen program oversight, and measure and improve the quality of care for Medi-Cal members.
***We are recruiting for a Research Scientist Supervisor II ( Epi/Bio) or (Soc/Beh) or a Research Specialist IV to fill this vacancy.***
Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position for current California civil service employees. T&D assignments cannot exceed 24 months. However, successful T&D candidates may transition to a permanent appointment, if eligible at the end of the T&D assignment.

Working Conditions
Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
Should the incumbent need to report to an office, they will need to report to DHCS office location: 1700 K St., Sacramento, CA 95811.
