Who we are looking for
We're looking for a Chemistry Integration Manager to join our Responsible Sourcing and Manufacturing Team at our headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
The candidate needs to have excellent communication skills across multiple stakeholders internally and externally, a proven ability to work cross-functionally, and the ability influence across different cultures and leadership levels. Candidate success will depend on an ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues, both inside of Nike and externally, understand and implement global solutions to complex chemistry requirements, and provide conscise, actionable chemistry guidance to the organization.
Strong engagement skills for driving industry groups and industry collaboration programs is a top priority, with a focus on implementation of industry tools/standards and continuous improvement approaches. Technical knowledge regarding air emssions, industrial hygiene, chemicals use and management, and chemical assessment/scoring frameworks are important skillsets to pull from.
What you will work on
In this role you will engage with industry partnerships and programs to create, refine and scale chemistry programs and standards. Some examples include continuous development and scaling of the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), new Air Emissions Guidelines, Nike's Foundational Expectations assessment program for chemistry, and engaging in facility compliance scoring and rating reviews. You will consider new approaches that help us meet the ever changing regulatory landscape, collaborate with peers in and out of our industry to create new and improved approaches to managing chemicals, and work across the business with key collaborators to build momentum for adoption of key industry tools and platforms. You will work with teams globally on chemistry targets and work collaboratively within trade groups and industry associations to continually move our industry forward on chemistry related topics.
On any give day you will:
  • Work with a global team on chemical management, compliance, and our chemical footprint
  • Support industry collaboration efforts to create and improve industry tools and standards
  • Engage with regional teams to drive chem mgmt. programs that help us achieve our targets
  • Support our Foundational Expectations program as chemistry subject matter expert
  • Collaborate with relevant teams on cleaner chemistry approaches
  • Leverage critical thinking to solve complex challenges at a global scale
  • Communicate across multiple levels of the business
  • Build a strong network internally and externally to help motivate change

Who you will work with
You will work cross functionally with internal teams focused on chemicals management in our supply chain, where you will bring to life the importance of the work and build momentum to find critical solutions. You will work with compliance focused teams on product chemistry and our facility compliance programs, and leverage tech teams/ data to make informed decisions that result in clear strategies.Your work externally with industry groups that have a global footprint, sharing in the development of new industry guidelines, tools, and systems. You will drive conversations on chemical management across our supply chain in conjunction with key resources around the world, bringing our chemistry targets to life and igniting positive change. You will work to influence teams on new programs to improve chemical management practices and get agreement for strategies to scale these programs.
What you bring
  • Bachelors degree in relevant area (chemistry, engineering, or related), MS or PhD are a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical management roles
  • Knowledge of footwear and apparel supply chain and production processes
  • History of successful engagement in industry collaborations or trade organizations preferred
  • Superior quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience setting program goals and managing strict timelines
  • Proactive thinker that anticipates the needs of the business
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ethics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external teams
  • Ability for some international travel
