Chemical Engineer/Chemist Job Description

Overview

Husky Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer/Chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing our K100 fuel additive product, designing new products, developing, and implementing chemical processes to improve product quality and efficiency. They will also be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and developing new products that support fuel handling systems and aftermarket automotive products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly on the fuel additive product line (K100) to improve performance.
  • Develop new fuel additives to be used in the automotive after market as well as retail and commercial dispensing applications.
  • Work directly with Quality Assurance and Design Engineering regarding materials and chemical compatibility.
  • Perform material testing and analysis for various materials exposed to petroleum products that are throughout the world.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement chemical processes to improve product quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to develop new products.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for chemical related products.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and improve existing ones.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to processing and packaging of aftermarket fuel additives.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • New grad to 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical processes, formulation design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of Chemical Engineering/chemistry principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Background working in a high volume manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment is required.
  • Knowledge of ISO regulations and process validation is a plus.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
