Certified Pharmacy Technician
Summary:
Responsible for processing prescriptions through the pharmacy software, online billing to insurance, and preparing medication by counting, labeling, organizing patient leaflets together for pharmacist to check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets the public and assists their needs with a friendly, positive, helpful attitude
- Answers phones with a friendly, positive, helpful attitude
- Enters prescriptions into pharmacy computer
- Fills prescripions with correct drug, counts, labels, and organizes paperwork together for pharmacist
- Rings up prescriptions and over the counter products at the cash register
- Assists pharmacist with checking and returning outdated stock
- Assists senior technician with packaging duties
- Assists Pharmacist(s) with maintaining 3 inventories of drug supplies
Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- Pharmacy Technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health Career Association (NHA)
- Must be able to multitask and be highly detail oriented
- Must have great customer service and organizational skills
- Able to be self-motivated and work independently
- Must be familiar with using computers, preferably Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to perform math calculations with simple algebra
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the Tribe’s Insurance.
- Maintains strict confidentiality. Understands HIPAA regulations
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
- FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire.
