We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who has the flexibility to work a minimum of 3 days per week from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
Position Responsibilities
- Confers with the Occupational Therapist and assists in evaluating, planning and performing direct Occupational Therapy treatment program. Carries out other departmental duties as assigned.
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluation of children referred to therapy by the physician.
- Perform specific Occupational Therapy treatment programs as prescribed by the registered/licensed occupational therapist.
- Document resident's progress and maintain proper record keeping.
- Assist with design and/or repair of adaptive equipment and with maintenance of orthotic devices.
- Assist ancillary staff in implementation of therapy programs.
- Assists in developing and implementing classroom positioning and movement programs with professional and non-professional staff.
- Attend, provide and/or participate in staff education programs.
- Assist with inventory and ordering of departmental supplies and/or equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of the department's equipment, environment and housekeeping needs.
- Periodically, assist with review and update of departmental policies and procedures.
- Carries out responsibilities in accord with Policies and Procedures of the Home and requirements of regulatory agencies.
- Hours scheduled to meet the needs of the facility will include evenings and some weekend hours.
Education
- Must have an associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant's program which is approved by The American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Must be licensed, or eligible for license, in Pennsylvania, and be certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Will be certified in CPR during the first 6 months of employment.
